Katie is involved in many organizations on campus like the Public Relations Society of America (PRSSA), the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ), WRHU Radio Hofstra University, Her Campus, and Hofstra’s Women’s Club Soccer Team. Just this year, Katie has been nominated to be president for her college campus’ chapter of Zeta Phi Eta, the Professional Fraternity for Students in the Communications Arts and Sciences. In addition, with the help of her fellow e-board members, she has reinstated Ed2010 at Hofstra and is excited to foster the next generation of magazine editors at her school. When she’s not interning in the city or focusing on school work and club involvement, Katie enjoys spending quality time with friends, watching movies, traveling and taking photos. Her ultimate goal is to work in the photo department of a magazine that fosters the idea of women empowerment and inner beauty.

Marisa Russell is a senior at Hofstra University studying Journalism with a focus in magazine and digital media. Marisa is the former president of Hofstra’s chapter of Zeta Phi Eta, the professional fraternity in the communication arts and sciences, is a former Hofstra Chronicle news editor and she is also a huge Ed2010 fan. She cannot wait to see what the reinstated chapter of Ed2010 does to help future magazine editors, like herself, grow and learn together (p.s. she checks Ed’s job board at least three times a day, even when she’s NOT job hunting). When Marisa isn’t in class, at her internship, or in a club meeting, she’s the social media manager for Masthead Media Company and she enjoys figuring out Facebook’s wacky algorithm in her spare time.
